Richfield Regency site in Verona slated for 65 apartments and retail

Gomes Consulting LLC, the contract purchaser of Verona’s Richfield Regency catering hall at 420 Bloomfield Avenue, plans to replace it with a four-story mixed-use building of 65 rental apartments over ground-floor retail. The township declared the roughly one-acre site an area in need of redevelopment in February 2026 and adopted a redevelopment plan. The application lists 52 one-bedrooms, 10 two-bedrooms and three three-bedrooms, with 10 affordable units and about 118 garage spaces. The site plan went to Planning Board review in July 2026. 320 Bloomfield Avenue: Verona keeps a 12-unit redevelopment site with two affordable homes in its amended fourth-round plan

Verona’s March 3, 2026 amendment to its fourth-round housing plan keeps 320 Bloomfield Avenue (Block 704, Lots 18 and 20) as a redevelopment site with the same 12-unit yield and 20 percent set-aside, or two affordable units. The original redeveloper asked the township to delay adopting the redevelopment plan, but Verona will proceed with adoption.
